Mark your calendars, 1943 fans! The best deal of the summer just got official drop dates for the Xbox 360, Playstation3 and PC.

The Xbox version hits the Live Arcade on July 8th, with the PS3 coming a day later on July 9th.

Electronic Arts Confirms Battlefield 3 In Development

Criterion Games working on a Need For Speed game wasn't the only surprising bit of news that Electronic Arts chief operating office John Pleasants tucked into his presentation at the William Blair Growth Stock Conference I listened to today. Pleasants confirmed he's seen DICE's work on Battlefield 3.

"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product," he said. "Of course, that's not [coming out] in the fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good." Gamers worried that Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield Heroes and Battlefield 1943 were a three-pronged answer to fans demanding a third Battlefield don't have to worry. Battlefield 3 is coming!

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is arriving for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this winter.

A direct sequel to last year's console-exclusive game, Bad Company 2 picks back up with the derelict B Company, which comprises a fictitious US military's expendable misfits and outcasts. Destructible environments, which were a core component of the original game, will again play front and center in Bad Company 2, thanks to further revisions to its proprietary Frostbite game engine.

Battlefield 2 v1.50 Beta Released

The beta for testing the new 1.50 update for Battlefield 2 is now available for everyone who want to help out and test the new patch. It contains a new map, Operation Blue Pearl, along with a number of security updates.

The beta will be running for at least a couple of weeks, to give the developers enough time to gather feedback from the beta testers (and hopefully make changes if that�s needed). Feedback is welcome on the EA forums : Feedback forums

- Additional support for Windows Vista.
- Added Highway Tampa as a required map.

GAMEPLAY TWEAKS
- Changes made to both the J10 and F35B to make them more balanced. Please note that the J10 is a superior dogfighter to the F35B and as such these two aircraft will never be equally matched.
- AA targeting tweaked to make it more effective.
- Added checks to prevent "runway grieving".
- Various changes made to prevent cheating.
- Tweaked the hit detection, hits will be more accurate to the model
- Increased the time to go prone after jumping from 0.3 seconds to 0.7 seconds
- Fixed G36E HUD during sprinting to match other weapons.
